Team headstrong will enter 2014 under 2 new teams, Greenville Velo (out of Greenville, SC) and Maddog83 (out of Tucson, Az).. It has been a great 4 years of racing, companionship, and community. We have accomplished some great things, but like all things, time moves on and so will we. See below for more details......

Downtown 5K

I was standing at the start and emboldened knowing 6 of my teammates were soon heading out on the UWBL. It was not Miami Beach out there this AM.

TEENIE - Big PR at 22:40 and 2nd in her AG. This was a return to run race form for Teenie. She used strong training and prep last week at Houston to lower her PR 29 seconds. This is really impressive as I would judge she is still developing her aerobic fitness. How fast can she be?

RM - PR at 22:30 and 2nd in AG. I was glad to beat some long time serious runners but had hoped for much better time. We started at Soby's and the uphill form the River past the Drive Stadium was painful. It was evident my legs had not recovered in the 6 days since Houston. All good though.

Our biz partner, Jim Landino from Pennsylvania, ran and it was real joy having him as we are VERY close. Twenty five plus years together and a ton of mutual admiration can do this! he's the BEST.

Can't wait to hear about the UWBL.

I'm so glad to hear about your PR, Teenie! Did you and Randall run together? You could probably see him just ahead of you at the finish line, but I know sometimes you don't see much at the finishline of a 5K! And after such a strong 1/2 marathon just one week ago, Randall, to do 22:30 is amazing...top that off with your friend and partner being there, and it's just one great day!

Nice going you two. What a good feeling it must be to have a personal best. Wow. All that hard work pays off doesn't it.

Congrats.

Wow! 29 seconds is HUGE in a 5K. Well done Teenie. Sounds like Randall, you had a solid run too. Great job you two!! Team Headstrong is looking good, already raking in the awards for the 2010 season =) More to come....

I forgot to congratulate you two yesterday. I think my brain cells were frozen because I was waiting an hour outside doing nothing waiting for my son to finish his race. Congratulations to your PR's!
