IT HELPS TO READ THE RULES and SHOW UP/FINISH

I had set a goal to be money winner in the Omnium. I was disappointed that I was 7th in the point total and they paid 5 places.

You can understand my puzzlement when a check for $30 came today?? for 5th place!

To be eligible for the Omnium, one had to complete all 3 races! so two of the riders above me in points were ineligible.

Lesson 1 - Read the rules.

I also finished last in both the RR and Crit.......sure I had cramps, I really barely finished them both.

Lesson 2 - It pays to show up and finish.

Oh, while there were about 20 competitors, not very many did all three races.

Lesson 3 - It pays to be old!

Guess I am not too old to learn lessons.

Congratulations Randall. That's a tough category you've aged up into.

That's a funny lesson! And, like Emily, I don't think the racing gets easier when you "age up"...they seem to have more time to train!

I am finding that 60+ is comprised of full time athletes.
